Hi everyone! I’m so excited to finally be online! People ask me questions all the time about my workouts and diet so I decided to get with the times and start a blog! I’m anxious to share whatever I can with you and I hope it helps you or motivates you in some way. The next few months are going to be challenging but exciting as I prepare for another season of competitions so be sure to check my blog often. I always have new recipes and workout and nutrition tips that I can’t wait to share with you! I love to learn from others too so email me anytime (pattyzariello@gmail.com) if you have something to share or a question you would like answered. I want to mention that I am a certified Nutrition Coach, personal trainer, and NPC Figure Competitor who has a deep passion for fitness and health but most importantly I’m a wife and a mother. I have learned from other people over the years and I’m still constantly learning and trying to balance my life. When I help others it makes me feel really good which is why I do what I do. That’s pretty much me in a nut shell…I want you all to know that I’m not claiming to be an expert, I’m just a regular person with a passion for what I do and a strong commitment and desire to succeed. I hope that in some way my blogs provide you with answers to questions you have or give you some extra motivation for your own fitness goals whether you’re planning to compete or not.
I mentioned “Figure Competitor”. Some of you out there may not be familiar with what that is (people always ask me if I’m a “body builder”) so let me explain a bit . As a figure competitor, I exercise and maintain a nutritious diet for optimal health, but once in a while I also take it to an extreme limit where I compete against other enthusiasts. Figure competitors are judged like bodybuilders for symmetry and overall muscle tone with a lower degree of muscularity. At the same time, they are expected to maintain poise, femininity, and stage presence. Competitors in this unique “sport” undergo the extensive dieting and exercise regimens similar to a bodybuilder. This sport takes a special kind of commitment and has many quirky trends, but at the same time, it can be so incredibly rewarding as you reach each goal and proudly bring your best package to the stage. If you’re goal-oriented it can be somewhat of an addictive and exciting endeavor especially if you pursue it with full focus and give it 100%.
That’s it for now but before I go I just want to share a quote with you that helps keep me focused on my goals. Maybe you’ll like it too ☺
“Just remember if you are not working at your game to the utmost of your ability, there will be someone out there somewhere with equal ability. And one day you will play each other and they will have the advantage” –Bill Bradley, former Pro Basketball player.
